Bukittinggi
Bukittinggi is one city in the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. The city was formerly called the Fort de Kock and the former had also dubbed as the Paris van besides Sumatra city of Medan, and the town of Bukittinggi was also the state capital of Indonesia.
The city is the hometown of one of the Bung Hatta proclaimed Indonesia, also known as city heritage with the Clock Tower, a landmark in the heart of the height, shaped like a big clock Big Ben, as well as a symbol for the city which is also located on the edge of a valley Sianok named Canyon.
Besides the town of Bukittinggi is also famous as a tourist city that cool air, and siblings (sister city) in Seremban from Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia.

Clock Tower
Clock Tower is the designation for a tower clock located in the heart of Bukittinggi, West Sumatra Province. Clock Tower is the name given to the Minangkabau society that clock tower building, because it has a clock tower was a "large sieve", or "at large" (large sieve = large clock hours; "large sieve" means big in Minangkabau language).
Such a phenomenal building clock tower called the Clock Tower at the time of its construction, so since the founding of the Clock Tower has become the center of everyone's attention. It also resulted in the Clock Tower used as a marker or landmark of Bukittinggi and also as one of the icons of West Sumatra province.
Clock Tower was built in 1926 by architect Yazid Sutan Dental Ameh. This clock was a gift from the Queen of the Netherlands to the Rook Maker, Controleur (City Secretary) Bukittinggi in the former Dutch East Indies Government. Laying the first stone clock is done Rook Maker's first son who was then 6 years old.
Ground-plan (building footprint following steps overlooking the Upper Market) of the Clock Tower is 13x4 meters, 26 meters height.
Clock Tower is engaged in mechanical and consisted of four hours / four-face clock overlooking the four compass directions with each clock face diameter of 80 cm.
This clock tower has undergone several changes in the peak shape. At first the top of the tower clock is round and on it stands a statue of a rooster. Lubang Japang
Lubang Japang is located at Bukik Sianok, Bukittinggi, West Sumatera, Indonesia.
Lubang Japang was built by Japan for defense fortress in War World II and War of Great Asia East in 1942. Tunnel building was did because of command General Wanabe. To make building, Japan employed villager around to make it. However, because of labour lacking, it made Japan conducived villager from outside area of Sumatera such as Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Jawa in order to finish quickly.
In 1946, Lubang Japang was found by villager around in condition not bad, because many human being bones were scattered around. At the time, government of Bukittinggi buried bones and cleaned tunnel. Then, government made tunnel as history tour object which was opened by Culture Minister Fuad Hasan at March 11th, 1986.
In 2004, Government of Bukittinggi did renovation tunnel wall with giving cement. It supposed to give comfortable for visitors.
Lubang Japang has length about 1400 m, (but now 725 m because it is closed in 2004), wide 2m, high 3m. It also has 3 main doors, 6 emergency door.3 main doors are located at Ngarai Sianok Street, in Panorama Park, and beside Istana Bung Hatta. This time, door which is used for public is Panorama Park. While, 2 main doors and 6 emergency doors are closed.
Previous, alley of tunnel was used for many necessity such meeting room, mess room, bed room, military barrack, arrest room. It has 12 rooms of military, 12 bed rooms, 6 ammunition rooms, 2 mess rooms for romusha, and 1 meeting room. The rooms still maintained and visitor can visit it.
Enter ticket price is Rp. 5000,- for children and Rp. 8000,- for adult.
